SEEDS: The Foundation of a Life in Christ

THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP
March 14 & 21, 6-8pm, with Pastor Jeremy
Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me” (Luke 9:23). Why the conditions?  In this class we will discuss what they mean and what it really costs to be a follower of Christ. We will examine them in their cultural setting, and, on a very practical level, determine how they look in our everyday lives.

ALL ABOUT JESUS: THE LIFE OF CHRIST
April 11 & 18, 6-8pm, with Pastor Todd
Nearly 75% of Americans believe that a man named Jesus actually lived in first-century Palestine, but there are many opinions about who he was.  A teacher of moral principles?  A prophet bringing messages from God to people?  A champion of social justice?  Explore the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to see what the Bible says about Jesus – his background, his nature, his life, and his mission.  Meet Jesus and hear how his story touches your life.

ROOTS: The Essentials of a Life in Christ

THE PURPOSE AND POWER OF PRAYER
February 21 &  28, 6-8pm, with Pastor Clancy
If God knows everything that will happen, why pray?  How can I learn to pray and avoid what the Bible calls “vain repetition?”  Do my prayers make a difference?  Can I pray for myself?  Where in the Bible can I learn more about prayer?  These and questions like them will be addressed in this course.

BIBLE STUDY TOOLS AND MODELS
March 14 & 21, 6-8pm, with Pastor Todd
Would you like to improve your Bible study skills and comprehension without the time and cost of a seminary degree?  Good news – studying and understanding the Bible does not require returning to school.  The key is asking the right questions and knowing how to find good answers to those questions.  You will learn how to do both in this hands-on approach to developing your study skills.

BRANCHES: The Framework of a Life in Christ

A NEW CREATION
February 21 & 28, 6-8pm, with Pastor Todd
What really changes when a person turns to Jesus for salvation?  Just about everything!  The New Testament talks about a new birth, a regeneration, a new life, a process of renewal.  Get the picture?  You will as we explore the incredible resources that God gives us when He becomes the Lord of our lives.

A CONSISTENT WALK WITH CHRIST
April 11 & 18, 6-8pm, with Pastor Clancy
What will help you cross over from inconsistency to consistency?  In this course we will closely examine the life of a man with whom we can all identify.  Consider what happened with Peter.  His ideal about what it meant to be a Christ-follower was shattered, yet he came back from a colossal failure to be one the all-time leaders of the church.  What can we learn from His life and letters to help us “grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ”?  Come find out.

FRUITS: The Product of a Life in Christ

CHRIST-CENTERED LIVING: CHRIST IN THE COMMUNITY
February 21 & 28, 6-8pm, with Pastor Jeremy
For a Christian, is everything clearly right or wrong, or is there something in the middle?  Is culture good or bad?  What things are good for me to do in my attempts to reach others for Christ?  How far is too far?  We will discuss these and other questions as we examine together what it means to reflect Christ in our culture in a relevant and transformational way.

CHRIST-CENTERED LIVING: SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP
March 14 & 21, 6-8pm, with Pastor Clancy
What does the Bible say about leadership?  What can we learn from people like Moses, David, Paul, Deborah, Lydia and Jesus?  We will study leadership from a biblical perspective and contrast it with what the world says.  We will also discuss some common errors about leadership in the church.
